The History Of Sole Survivor

Good Day Everyone, It is I, the man who can hit a jackpot on 5 machines in a line in one day, the man who sits ringside for the best prize fights Las Vegas has to offer, and the man who was once wearing strips and now wears tights, “The Highroller” Michael Busciacco, with a special edition of this weeks Craps Shoot, “The History Of Sole Survivor”. Last January I enjoyed delivering “The History Of Battle Bowl”, I figured, hey, I’ve been to the first two of these great events aswell, why not tell the uneducated fans what this great event is all about. It is another OTW orginal concept. Very unusal, yet exciting, and when it comes to the event itself, you never know what will happen. All the wrestlers on the OTW roster who choose to take part in this event, have no time to prepare, have no time to tape study, have no time to do their homework, have no idea when there match will take place all for once simple reason, it is a pull of their name. Yes every participant name is simply written down on a piece of paper, crumbled up, and placed into a plastic bin. When the event begins, all the men leave their lockerrooms, dressed fully, and ready for action. The General Manager Jim Molineaux travels around The Monster Factory and chooses a random fan to choose two pieces of paper from the bin, first Molineaux will read the first name of the wrestler who will be wrestling, followed by the reading of a second name. The despite the mens relationship, they must battle, whether they are dear friends or bitter enemys, they must a complete all out wrestling match in order to advance in The Sole Survivor single elimination Tournement. The man who wins, must be prepared to wrestle again, the man who loses unfortunely must hit the showers, cause his day is over. Now in the past two years of the event the rules were altered from the first year to the second due to the hold up of the OTW Heavyweight Championship at the time. However the orginal concept was taken on with 16 men, after the drawing of the first 8 matches and the 8 winners advancing. The names of the winners are put back into the bin. Then that is followed by the drawing of the final Sole Survivor match, as a fan now gets to draw 4 random names at a time, then another 4 random names, those 4 random men drawn first must the form a 4 man team, followed by the other 4 men. This all procedes to an 8 man elimination tag. Now the teams stay a unit until thoughout the match, however it one side is completly eliminated and there are still remaining memebers on the other side, those men then must have either a 4 way, 3 way, or 1 on 1 contest until their is only one man standing victorious. That man is deemed the Sole Survivor. Last year due the Championship being vacated at the time, the event was altered to a single elimination 4 round tournement to crown the new champions, however the fans still got choose the matches for every round until the final round. After the past two years of being such a sucessful event, this year we will be presenting our 3rd installment, we will be returning to our 1st year concept of 8 matches and and the final Sole Survivor 8 man tag, however this year, seeing as we currently have an OTW Heavyweight Champion, CK Cross, this year we will be presenting a Speical Night Event, following Sole Survivor and the man who wins Sole Survivor earlier in the day, will get a guranteed title shot againist CK Cross at this Night Event. It will indeed be interesting, 16 men on the OTW roster, including myself, have to strive to survive for a chance to become the OTW Heavyweight Champion. But before I get ahead of myself let’s go back in time as I deliver the results of the past 2 Sole Survivors:

Sole Survivor 1: Little dusty on the exact date, however I know it was July 2008, and also at the time was boardcasted live on our short lived video stream of Weekly Live Event on streamingmartialarts.com, Yours truely and Danny Miles were calling the action. Besides the matches other highlights saw Matt Walsh supposely win $500 dollars of my money, slamming the then unslamable New Jersey Strong Man Steve Adzima, and also yours truely taking a hiatus from OTW, not giving into Jim Molineaux’s demands that I honor my contract to be his slave, after not attending a strap match with Estebon a few weeks earlier, however I decided before I left to lay Molineaux out with the chair shot heard round the world, and start on a road that I try to tend to forget, but anyway now onto the listing of the matches:

In the first 8 hand drawn matches here is how it panned out:

Matt Miles defeated Irish Mike
Project X defeated Michael Francelino
Shane Hagadrone defeated Tiger McAdams
Bazooka Joe defeated “The Thriller” Andd Bivans
“Gorgeous” Greg Hogya defeated Estebon.
Sir Gaylord Fauntleroy defeated “Pretty Boy Brian Johnson
Anthony Digati defeated IM Smarter
Mitch Franklin defeated Mr. Atlantic City Sal Defalco

Then those victors were put onto two 4 sided teams and here they were:
Greg Hogya, Sir Gaylord Fauntleroy, Project X, and Anthony Digati vs. Shane Hagadrone, Mitch Franklin, Bazooka Joe, and Matt Miles.

I’m a little dusty on the order of eliminations, however through think and thin it would be “Gorgeous” Greg Hogya who would become The 1st Sole Survivor. This was the last summer in which OTW would run through consider the heat wave that would endure and come to the decision that Old Time Wrestling would not have their Weekly Live Event from June to September, to give our loyal fans a chance to enjoy their summer, it was also decided that Sole Survivor would be the perfect event to close out what was now becoming the OTW wrestling seasons. Now lets move onto last years edition, one I actually like to not remember, however for the sake of you fans I will review it. Going into the event, 2 weeks prior during a controversal match between then Champion Craig Nash and “Pretty Boy” Brian Johnson, after and illegal exchange from Craig Nash’s father, it was decided the title would be held up and the man who won Sole Survivor would be crowned the new champion after wrestling 4 times in 1 day in a 4 round single elimination tourenment. The fans where once again the match makers and here is how it all went down. I ofcourse forced into this after being floored by Craig Nash after a misunderstanding, I decided that I had some aces up my selve to get back the OTW Heavyweight Title and this time have it around my waste, I may have failed, but in the end I learned from the experience, and heck I’m still sucessful and I’m entering again this year, and this year I won’t make any mistakes. Once again though I’m getting ahead of myself, lets review the matches:

1st Round:
CK Cross defeated Sir Gaylord Fauntleroy
“The Highroller” Michael Busciacco defeated IM Smarter
“Pretty Boy” Brian Johnson defeated Dan De Man
Matt Miles defeated Luis “The Punisher” Martinez
Adam “Aces” Chandler defeated “Glamourous” George Zlotnicki
“Awesome” Eddie Hawkins defeated Michael Francelino
Con Or Gello(”Full Throttle” Chris Bohren) defeated “The Thriller” Andd Bivans
Danny Miles defeated Irish Mike

2nd Round:
“The Highroller” Michael Busciacco defeated Con Or Gello(”Full Throttle” Chris Bohren)
Danny Miles defeated Adam “Aces” Chandler
CK Cross defeated Matt Miles
“Pretty Boy” Brian Johnson defeated “Awesome” Eddie Hawkins

3rd Round:
“The Highroller” Michael Busciacco defeated Danny Miles
“Pretty Boy” Brian Johnson defeated CK Cross

Final Round:
“Pretty Boy” Brian Johnson defeated Luis “The Punisher” Martinez after “The Highroller” Michael Busciacco opted to reliquesh his spot, “Pretty Boy” Brian Johnson was crowned The New Old Time Wrestling Heavyweight Champion.

I will not go into details of what happened after that match as it seems a blur. But anyway, it is Old Time Wrestling’s honor to once again present to you fans this great event in it’s now 3rd installment. To be followed by the Final Night Event of the Old Time Wrestling Season. The best thing I see about this whole event, is letting the great fans, get involved and have fun, despite all the horrible things I say about you people, I still have a heart, I may dipise you all, but I do respect that fact that you loyal people, spend your hard earned money every week and come out and see us Old Time Wrestling Superstars do what we do best and that is wrestle.
